In order to “contribute to the planning, development, communication, implementation, and evaluation of technology-infused strategic plans at the district and school levels (International Society for Technology in Education, 2011),” it is important to hear and be heard. When I first stepped into the role of Technology Integration Specialist, I took some time to speak with my Head of School to hear her thoughts on technology in education. While the questions and answers were important, the conversation itself was transformative; I felt like I was contributing important considerations for the future of educational technology at our school. I also believe that my Head of School truly felt heard and understood. This conversation opened the door for future conversations, future conversations that would move our school forward.
